Technology Loans
Did your battery die? Do you need a phone charger? A laptop?
Current U of T students, staff and faculty can borrow a variety of technology items from the Loans and Information desk using your TCard. All items are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
Loan times vary by device.

Loan policies
When borrowing technology items, you agree to the following:
- You may not open the casing or otherwise tamper or mishandle the device, including its internal components or software
- You are a registered U of T student, faculty, or staff member with an active UTORid and valid TCard
- You will engage in appropriate use of the electronic, and will not use the device for unethical, inappropriate, illegal, prohibited or unauthorized purposes including but not limited to: sending unsolicited materials, misrepresenting oneself as another user, attempting to modify or gain access to files, passwords, or data belonging to others, sending, receiving or displaying text or graphics that are illegal or offensive
- That U of T is not responsible for any damage to personal property, including but not limited to loss of data, damage to files, errors, omissions and delays to personal computing devices using this device
- You understand that the University may impose the following academic sanctions if you have outstanding debts or obligations to the University in accordance with the Policy on Academic Sanctions:

- withhold the release of the official diploma to students, alumni, and former students

- withhold access to the statements of results and transcripts of students and alumni

- refuse registration to continuing or returning students
- To pay replacement costs of the item due to damage, loss, or theft while it is signed out to you. An item replacement fee for items damaged, lost, or stolen may be assessed
- That this electronic must be returned by the due date and that there is a $5.00/hour fee for late returns.
Replacement fees
Should am item be damaged, lost, or stolen while on loan, an item replacement fee may be levied against ourt library account as follows:
- Laptops: $2,000
- Wi-Fi hotspots: $300
- Video game consoles: $2,000
- All other items: $80
